Remembering… Dreaming…

Remembering... Dreaming...

It is because of her skill as a cellist that Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, 88, is able to sit in her home in west London, smoking a cigarette and talking about her remarkable life.

Without music she would have been killed at Auschwitz.” (from The Guardian – to read the full article click here).

Anita and her son, also cellist, gave a concert a few weeks ago to remember the Kristallnacht when the catastrophe of the Holocaust began.

When our soul lively dives into the memory of past events, it might magically emerge in front of our eyes a vision of the future that we want or we need.

May I contribute to this Memorial Day recalling the vision of the future described by the “Strangest Dream” composed by Ed McCurdy, with the hope that this Dream becomes real one day ! To listen the song visit YouTube

Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream by Simon and Garfunkel

Last night I had the strangest dream

I ever dreamed before

I dreamed the world had all agreed

To put an end to war

I dreamed I saw a mighty room

The room was filled with men

And the paper they were signing said

They’d never fight again

And when the papers all were signed

And a million copies made

They all joined hands end bowed their heeds

And grateful prayers were prayed

And the people in the streets below

Were dancing round and round

And guns and swords and uniforms

Were scattered on the ground

Last night I had the strangest dream

I ever dreamed before

I dreamed the world had all agreed

To put an end to war
